In retro news, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team is turning 11 today. It’s a 3DS game that I’m pleased I didn’t sleep on. This 2009 sequel to Bowser’s Inside Story, released during The Year of Luigi (a 30th anniversary celebration), placed more emphasis on the lanky L-capped one. Apart from the incessantly captivating level and gear grinding, I recall enjoying the Luiginoids, Giant Luigi boss battles, and Luginary Attacks. Additionally, the game featured a striking new visual style that served as a model for all subsequent releases, including Mario & Luigi: Brotherhood, which I will definitely play through to the very end.
